The sun was shining, the music was soaring. With many thanks to our volunteers (the organizers, bakers, setter-uppers, greeters, ticket sellers, elevator operators, servers, cleaner uppers and piano tuner) sponsors and guests, Musical Wednesday 2017 benefiting Extra Miles and the seniors in our community was a another wonderful success. Our long-time friend, pianist Laurie Altman and her friend Linda Rosenthal treated over 80 people to a joyful program.
The tea and treats following the concert was humming with fellowship. With thanks to our generous sponsors, at least 30 people, who would not otherwise be able to attend such an event, were treated to the special show. 4 taxis were used to bring some individuals, referred by the CLSC, to the concert and to return them home safely (most with a parting gift of home baked goodies).
The guests were in awe of Linda and Laurie’s talent and appreciated the graciousness of the MWUC community, the wonderful tea and social time.
